honestly this is amazing, its a really fun remake of duck life c: i love how you put your own spin on it with the race terrain and minigames and such, my favourite was probably the swimming one! though the jumping was fun too once i got the hang of it :D
also idk how you made those frogs so adorable when theyre like half a pixel but they really are so cute <3<3<3
I finished it as best I could. I spent maybe too much time on this game... 🐸
A few things I noticed:
There is not enough money as reward to both max out the energy of the frog and to buy all the hats/colors
There seems to be a bug on the second level of the second circuit that makes a maxed frog jump way too short and get hurt when it should stomp the competition.
The energy bar in-race looks like it might go up to 100 but only shows up to 48 in the main menu like the other skills. The value can go beyond that 48, though.
I saw some issues with clarity, so I made sure to add some information to the description. Make sure you read it for a list of controls, and gameplay instructions!
If clarity is still an issue I can see about adding a tutorial as well
I'm sorry! Z and X are the default Circle and X inputs for Pico-8, the game engine I developed this with. If you play on mobile, it'll give you Circle and X as actual buttons which makes it more playable. What keyboard layout do you use/what keys would you prefer? I can see about adding that as an accessibility feature :)
Hi, thanks for the nice reply. Where I live we have z & y switched, I know other countries where it's the same. Probably even other layouts out there. Best option would be to:
have z and y both bound to the same action
have an options menu where people can assign keys to events.

Honestly those frogs are one of my better creations, sometimes I would just spawn a bunch and watch them hop!

Sorry for the late reply! You unlock the next circuit of races by beating every race in the current circuit :)
